Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 exclusive DLC preview: Boros and Simic deck lists revealed!
Let’s cut to the chase: if you love Magic the Gathering and the plane of Ravnica, you’re probably pretty damn interested in knowing how the city’s next five guilds play out in Gatecrash. While I’ve taken a stab at possible guild mechanics for the paper game, I’m very pleased to announce actual news.
Below you’ll find full, official deck lists (including unlocks) of the Boros and Simic decks for Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013. While it’s not officially confirmed, you can expect it will likely arrive on November 7th (Xbox), in keeping with Major Nelson’s recent DLC announcement.
The Boros deck, Act of War, is a combat-focused pile with lots of efficient creatures, a handful of powerful removal spells, and more than enough instant combat tricks to make your opponent regret every blocking decision.
The Simic deck, Sky and Scale, offers a little more flexibility. There are a multitude of themes, including card draw, tempo advantage, and token generation, giving the Simic scientist in all of us a few viable options for deckbuilding.
Of course, there are still three other decks likely to make an appearance for Gruul, Dimir, and Orzhov, as well as promo card unlocks and a mysterious sixth reveal that’s rumored to be Duels’ first rainbow deck. I’ll certainly post info as soon as it’s available, as well as deck guides and strategy, in the near future. So stay tuned to Top Tier Tactics and enjoy the spoilers!

And because you posted it, ac3 won’t kick u back to the main screen. Thanks a bunch Wing, you are the best.
Do you know anything about the unlocks (promo)? Try to use these two cards Lightning Serpent and Assault Strobe.
No word at this time on promos. And NICE COMBO, didn’t think of it.
sky and scale looks really cool, can’t wait to play it :)
Hey Wing, just wondering, how are you getting on the internet?
I’m using my phone right now as a hotspot – which will probably last for about 50 minutes before I’m in the dark again.
I heard that we won’t get power until Wedsday, and was wondering if I could find an easier way to get online.
Power eventually got restored, we got kind of lucky.
So while you relax in your home and play ACIII, I hunt for power outlets to charge my phone in an extremely crowded shelter….:(
Life isn’t fair *cries
Normally I don’t like Red or White but Act of War looks FUN.
I can’t wait for the 7th. A little halo 4 action plus more Duels decks!!!
I’m quite surprised at the lack of any equipment in the Boros deck. You’d think that they’d have included even a couple of basic ones like Leonin Scimitar or something.
The only reason I can think of why they wouldn’t is that providing such a bonus for the Boros Swiftblade is something they didn’t want to do. Still, seems strange to me.
Well if you remember how OP March to War was you might gather what they are going for this time.
March to War wasn’t OP at all — Beknighted on the other hand…
March to war was a 3-4 turn deck, only like 4 decks (goblins, knights, sorin vamps, and tezzy arts) in the duels series claim that title so I lovingly disagree with you destricted, pure white March was waaaaaaAAAAaaay OP. Granted beknighted was the most stupidly OP deck in the series.
hey wing, whats the URL you used for these lists on tappedout.net? or did you not post them?
Not to let my nerd hang out ,Wing, but boros is not the law, azorius is the law. Boros is essentially the army. I can’t fucking wait for UG!!! I used to rape face with Ancient Depths and I can’t wait to build a card advantage/token deck!!! I don’t think I have enough exclamation points to show how excited I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn gotta go buy more exclamation points.
I’ll lend you some of mine.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DLC is available for download on xbox marketplace.
The DLC is now available on Steam. Interestingly the new decks don’t seem to have the ten bonus unlocks. Either that or they haven’t been integrated as of yet.
Since the promo cards went unlisted, I wonder if this means that there will be a new round of codes for these and upcoming decks.
There are no promo cards for the new decks, sadly.
That being said, when we gonna see some deck guides? Curious for your take on them, Wing. Still tryin to figure out what I want to do with Simic. A lot of fun, but kinda slow.
Where is your sourcing for your “no promo cards for the new decks” info?
Card draw man… Card draw. Simic is amazing.
Damn I played 20 games in a row with the simic deck and I lost 1. My variant is token creation and card draw. This deck kicks ass. Please someone find the promo unlock codes!!! I needs them!!!
Brutal build… Wish I could run 8-9 mountains and 10-11 plains (duels seems to reverse it every time :-( ). Well actually, I wish I could run 8 Mountains, 10 plains, and 4 terramorphic expanses… Shrug!
Anyway, this is a very solid build. It attacks from the beginning, if it doesn’t win fast it controls, and then has plenty of late game finishers once it locks down the board. Give it a try.

Hi Wing, is it possible you can put out deck guides for these decks? Also for Aura Servants? Especially for Aura Servants?
I know you’re playing AC3 but we’d also love more videos, especially with the new decks.
Jesus people, Simic’s deck requires a hell lot of customization. I feel like the deck doesnt have enough focus otherwise; boros is much more focused btw
I guess if you dont specialize simic’s deck into card draw, or air, or tokens, the deck pretty much sucks
