Now you can (actually) be a pinball wizard for free
Almost a year ago, one of my earliest articles reported that the XBLA game, Pinball FX2, had become free to play.
Sadly, I was mistaken. Instead, the game itself was free, but the ability to actually play it was contingent upon buying machines/tables/skins one at a time. In essence, the game wasn’t actually free at all.
But, if you’re a fan of pinball, as well as not paying a damn cent for stuff, you’ll be glad to hear that sometimes good things do happen to good people. Or at least, patient ones.
It turns out Pinball FX2 will actually be free next week!
Now, the whole game isn’t free, but for the first time ever, you can download a whole pinball table for free, essentially opening up the majority of the game’s content to you for the grand total of zero Microsoft points and 00/100 cents. And if you just so happen to enjoy your tasting of Pinball FX2, perhaps you’ll be inclined to purchase more tables. Perhaps.
But watch out, the deal is only good for a limited time! Head on over to Xbox Live Arcade the week of October 26th to cash in.
Fun Fact. I actually bought an old pin ball machine at a swap meet, which later broke after a month.
Is it enjoyable?
Personally, I’m terrible at pinball in real life and in games, so if watching every play end in game over results is fun…. then yes, yes it is. =D
